British Excellence, Muscat Ready Education

At RGSG Muscat, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) provides a rich, globally minded framework that nurtures curiosity, collaboration and a deep love of learning. Across all Mileposts, children are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas and make meaningful connections between subjects. This enquiry-led approach equips learners with the knowledge, skills and personal dispositions they need for success in the modern world.

Our classrooms are vibrant, inclusive spaces where children investigate, create and reflect daily. The IPC is built around thematic units that bring learning to life and inspire meaningful cross-curricular links, helping pupils see how knowledge connects across subjects. Alongside the IPC, children study English in line with the UK National Curriculum, the White Rose Mathematics programme, Arabic, Islamic Studies (for Muslim pupils), and Social Studies. Specialist teachers deliver Music, PE, ICT (Grade 3-6) and Art, enriching the curriculum with expert guidance.

Science is fully embedded within the IPC, allowing pupils to develop scientific understanding through hands-on investigations and integrated thematic learning.

In Milepost 1, children take their first steps into structured enquiry. Learning is designed to spark curiosity, build foundational knowledge and nurture early skills in communication, exploration and teamwork.

  • Enquiry-Led Thematic Units

Through engaging IPC themes, pupils explore ideas that connect history, geography, science, art and technology. These thematic links make learning meaningful, memorable and relevant.

  • Skills Development

Children develop early enquiry skills such as observing, questioning, sorting and explaining, laying the foundations for deeper learning.

  • A Stimulating Environment

Classrooms and outdoor spaces provide rich opportunities for exploration, creativity and movement.

Milepost 2 (Grades 3–4)

In Milepost 2, pupils begin to work with greater independence. Learning becomes more analytical, connected and purposeful.

Interdisciplinary, Thematic Learning

IPC units deliberately weave together concepts from humanities, science, technology and the arts. These cross-curricular links help pupils understand how knowledge interacts and applies to real-life contexts.

Growing Independence

Pupils plan investigations, gather information, interpret findings and communicate their learning confidently.

Digital Literacy

Technology is used to research, collaborate, design and present, strengthening pupils’ digital competencies.

Personal Learning Goals

The IPC’s personal goals—such as enquiry, respect, resilience and adaptability—support both character development and academic growth.

Milepost 3 (Grades 5–6)

Milepost 3 prepares pupils for advanced enquiry, global awareness and a smooth transition into Cambridge Secondary.

Advanced Thematic Enquiry

Pupils investigate complex questions, develop structured research skills and draw connections across subjects, strengthening their ability to think critically and creatively.

Global Awareness

IPC units explore themes such as sustainability, innovation, community and human impact, shaping responsible global citizens.

Leadership and Collaboration

Pupils take increasing ownership of projects and presentations, strengthening teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

Transition to Secondary

By the end of Milepost 3, pupils possess strong academic foundations and confident learning behaviours that support their progression into the Cambridge curriculum in Grade 7.
